Our Erard de concert (2m50) from 1875 is moving forward. We attack the restoration of the dampers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The dampers on this great Erard concertina gave us a hard time. Indeed we had a lot of difficulties to make the necessary flexibility to the trestles. In the end, the solution was to completely refill these parts with sheep leather for the joints, and hard ox leather for the spoon cushion. The whole assembled with bone glue allows to keep the axis of the damper, despite a leather hinge. We will soon move on to the mechanical adjustments and tuning …<\/p>\n
