The pianista is the precursor of the mechanical pianos.

It is a small piece of furniture that can be placed in front of a classical piano.

The wooden “fingers” of the pianist must be placed on the keys of the piano keyboard to make it play mechanically. When you pedal, you create a vacuum of air, which moves the wooden fingers that press the keys of the keyboard. And this leads to a roll of perforated paper that plays a musical tune.
